Did any of the Norwegian F-104s or F5s carry camouflage finish AND the RAF WW2-style squadron codes?

No, nay, never. The CF-104's were delivered after '72, when we got rid of the RAF style. The two green F-5A's we ever had carried white or black tail numbers, respectively.

Oh wel tis a pity - I may have to try a grey (or was it metal) one then. Just a plan for the future.

What about this, then...?
Had the CFs been delivered a year earlier, this is how they might have looked.

PS. There should be an attachment somewhere .....

Don't see it here Nils.
I was reading 'Combat Codes' and I hadn't realised Norway had used the RAF WW2 coding system for so long. Thought it might be nice to plan a model that shows that on jet fighter.

Actually the system was discontinued in the late 40's and into the 50's before they realised that the RAF codes were better. So the RAF system was reintroduced and kept until 1972 IIRC.

Attachment didn't work, so I uploaded it to my web site: As Kyrre says, squadron codes were discontinued in 1972 (September I think). The CF-104s were put into service in 1973. Nils
