It is a form of kit bash. Fuselage is from Sword, prop from Heller, interior from Italieri, the rest is Hasegawa. Fuselage was a "spare" in Sword's MkXVIe low back boxes. I got lucky to get left and right half's.

A little slow down caused by ... adding a companion That will be an early MkIX modify in Abukir.

Looking good (I thought that when you talked about adding a companion it was that you'd been caught by some woman. Which you may already have been, for all I know. Then I realised you were talking about another kit) Apart from that I think the C-wing gun cover fairing looks very bulky.

Looks good LC, is there a reason you are using the wings from the Hasegawa kit or did you just have that many spare Sword fuselages. The 3 Mk XVI kits I have all had one ofe the high back halves removed.

My boxing of Sword's low back MkXVIe had a one half of high back fuselage each. Lucky it was a right combination. Than the second (companion ) build is the Airfix fuselage with Hasegawa wings. Why not Hasegawa fuselage - because is a bit "thin" or "skinny". I don't care for length dispute but once I have series of builds of particular airplane I want them to look like evolution not completely different airframes. I opted for Sword's proportions and Airfix have this same hight (it must be a bit shorten (at the fule tank portion) to fit wings base. That way the Tamiya's MkI, MkV, Airfix's MkI/II and Fujimy MkXIV/XIX look this correct. Adding to that Sword's own MkVc, PRIV and few Seafires this will look like EVOLUTION of an airplane. BTW, making that early engine cover opened door for one, or two more of MkIX. The medium extended wing tips will be on an MkVc special and PRIV from Aboukir. I'm building them as a batch of kits at once because is more efficient for me. Another reason is paint by it self. After switching to acrylics for most of my builds I'm using Tamiya and Gunze mixing them to what I like. That way I will mot waste excess paint and have consistency. I found that important making Italian subjects The bulges on MkIX are not glued yet, I have also more rounded from Sword.

All it needs is a coat of primer, sanding, than I will make mold from the top cover. Since I have few more of them to do, it makes more sense to me to do casting for replacements.
