Here are the latest 3 to be finished by me - early, mid and late P-40s in British service. First up is the Airfix Tomahawk. In my opinion, the panel lines ARE to heavy on Airfix's latest releases (they are improving, but still not up to the standard other manufactureres can attain). I reduced the lines by brushing on Mr Surfacer. Allow it to dry, and by its very nature, the filler will shrink a little thus leaving the line. The whole part then is gently sanded with wet and dry, leaving the Surfacer in the lines only. A coat of primer from a rattle can will then show how the lines look. Well it worked for me, and I think the panels look the better for it. Scratchbuilt interior and seat, Quickboost wheel wells and prop, Falcon vac canopy, Finished in Xtracolour, with Barracudecals for the markings. Next is the Academy Kittyhawk. Scratchbuilt interior and seat, Quickboost prop, Falcon vac canopy, Finished in Xtracolour, with Barracudecals for the markings. And lastly, the late P-40 from Hasegawa. At the risk of sounding boring, scratchbuilt interior and seat, Quickboost prop, Falcon vac canopy, Finished in Xtracolour. The markings came from the spares I had, with the sharkmouth being masked and painted by me. Comments gratefully received.

At the risk of sounding boring: Awesome job done, particularly the last sharkmouth. As for chipping, I wonder if a bit of variation with some darker paints - or light grey, would work in weathering the aircraft without stripping it all the way down. These aircraft would have American primers underneath. I've just noticed that the tank modellers are great at doing that - gives quite a bit of life.
