Winnie the Pooh - Tamiya 1:32 Mustang

Finally found some time to do some modelling. My Tamiya Mustang has been on hold since the spring, but tonight I got to it and painted the nose art, just because it was holding me back from finishing the damn model.
I only have a picture of the pilot's P-51B, but I have a feeling he got his new aircraft painted similarly, since he always flew with his girlfriend's teddybear and also had a clover painted on the aircraft.
Anyway, the original and then my interpretation. Hand painted with a 00-brush

Man, so much fiddly stuff to do when you're approaching the end of a project. Decals, painting those propellers (Never fun, but they were sprayed white, then yellow, yellow masked off, then Gunze Tire Black). The spinner was sprayed yellow to even out colours (when I was working on the propeller) and then I reapplied some Testors Acrylic Red to get an even colour).
The most difficult task was actually to do the serial on the tail. It's supposed to be 414027. I had all numbers except 2. Was confident that the Tally Ho US serials would do it, but the numbers are too thick. So I made the 2 out of a 3 and a 5. I might fix that unintentional stencil line in the 2. Or maybe not.
Oh, I think I did drill out all the holes in the lower cowling intakes some time ago. Looks a lot better than the solid piece from Tamiya.

Is this your aluminum paste finish?

Yup. Wings and moving surfaces painted with other stuff, though. Think it was Tamiya TS-12 on rudder and Floquil Bright Silver on the wing.
