Starting some new projects - updates for the Trumpeter Tu-22M3. Not sure what all I'll do - probably landing gear, maybe exhausts, intakes... First up were the wheels, though. The Trumpeter kit parts aren't great. (these are the Mastercasters parts; flattened, but using the kit wheels) Fairly straightforward stuff - measure up some scale drawings, do some guesstimating from reference pics, fudge it for print tolerances and you're good. I may need to do some re-sizing to fit the kit, but they should be fairly close. Front: ...and the rears. Nice thing about digital models: you don't have to make two separate, matching parts. Just mash the "mirror" button and you get perfect, left and right hand wheels. Biggest hurdle was trying to sort out the tyre cross section. I just can't seem to wrap my head around rubber, for some reason.
