Question: what, if any differences were there in the wheels/landing gear struts between the various marks? I know the prototype had different wheels... did any of the other versions?
Funny aside: while searching for info, I found an eBay auction for a surplus wheel. They specified the wheel was in excellent condition because "it only performed one take off and one landing". Err... I'd kind of hope so.

What sort of Lightning? English Electric or the other one?

Because this: The new 1/72 Airfix has a solid nosewheel/nose gear. Not very good. Soon, it will have separate nosewheel/nose gear. (shhhh!) Yup, that's right, the kit isn't even out yet and it needs aftermarket corrections! Suck it! ...and since I'm already doing the nose wheel, might as well do the mains, too: Also on the agenda: exhausts. Maybe. But that's a terrifying level of complexity I haven't actually tackled before so... maybe not.

Did you have a link to the sprues? There is a lot of anticipation on brit and just a couple of fuzzy pics

Nope. Though I'll probably be getting some shortly. But the available sprue shots DO show a one-piece NLG assembly, and I've been asked to do a more detailed part, so... Currently researching Dunlop logo types. I've got reference photos showing the logo in two styles (one a simple block type, the other the more standard Dunlop font), so I'm trying to figure out which was more common, and/or which was period correct... and if there'd be trademark issues with either of them. BTW: I've seen pics of the Tu-22M3 wheel prints. They look extremely nice - *almost* ready to cast, right out of the printer - the kind of quality that you picture when you hear about 3D printing revolutionizing the modelling world.

Hey gents;
Saw test shots and a build up of the EE Lightening at Tellford and it was sweet looking. There is also a super, duper oven mitt scale Tiffie on the way as well. Timmaaay!

Yeah, the Tiffie looks pretty impressive, even though IMO, Tiffies are entirely unimpressive, if you know what I mean. Sounds like the Lightning is due in 3 - 4 weeks. Just in time for Christmas!
