Dunno. Quite a bit, but there'd be about 10 unregistered viewers at any one time, it seems. These, I suspect, were mostly bots of various sorts. Up until now I've had about 11.000 applications for membership, most by viagra- and pornpeddlers. Recently on average there have been 20 topics per month and somewhere around 150 posts altogether. We went down from 50-100 topics per month towards the end of 2010. Can't remember when the Gaston-incident was, around October 2011 I guess, but the decline started before that.
Why?

If it's any consolation, the other half of this forum only had three posts since May.

Well, I'm not sure where David's going, but in any case, having thought about things - and seeing that people are actually "hanging on" I am now (as opposed to earlier this summer) more than willing to discuss ways to keep TM as it is - though of course this solution here seems perfectly functional to me - albeit without the complete "Trashmodeller" identity. For one, I am not very much interested in being sole "owner" of TM. For two, the cost of the web host today is about 220 USD a year. I'm sure that's expensive, I'm sure I'm paying for way more webspace than what's needed. If the original TM were to continue we'd have to find a way to transfer to a cheaper web host or spread the cost between the members. The thing is I can't be arsed to ask people for money and also I'm not sure people are willing to take that cost. There are, after all, not many active members.

I saw where I could pay 7 dollars and get rid of the ads for a month if the number of views was within 50,000 per month. I wasn't sure if the ads would be gone just for me or for everyone. But I was willing to chip in for a months worth

I'm not sure if we had as much as 50k clicks.
I'm pretty sure this solution is better, since I don't see us forking out a certain amount a year, every year, even though I think most of us could afford it. I guess for many of us, me included, it's more a matter of principle rather than access to actual means to do it. We have so many ways to communicate these days that it seems this kind of forum, the chummy, close knitted one, is a thing of the past. Nevertheless, for those of us "still in", it's good we have a place to meet.

Here in Poland an account enough to run TM costs - in very good quality web hosting company - about 100 USD per year. And I think there are other quite reliable and cheaper offers.

Piotr, good to see you.
I know it's too much. There are several issues, here, though, one being the fact that I'm a full time student and have little interest in running a website, simple as. If anybody were interested in taking over TM - name and all, I'm sure it could be arranged. But I don't have the energy to find out how to transfer stuff
