...is up for grabs. Since Mike wont sell his Audi to me (or even the Corolla) I'll just have to settle for this: www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm?SaleCode=MO12&CarID=r238In truth, there is no equal to a 1962 250GT SWB California...none. Both my friends Grant Kinzel and Fred Phillips are in Monterey this weekend for the Pebble Beach Concours De Elegance. They plan on attending the RM Auction, it's a must do event. It will be interesting to see what this goes for, they so rarely come up for sale....

Mmmmm.... purty. Coincidentally, I just bought a 250GT SWB. Not a California, though. Though mine's from Le Mans. But it didn't win. However it did make first in it's class. Looks like a hell of an auction, actually. There's not many cars on the list that I *wouldn't* love to have. And an impressive collection of Le Mans competitors and homologations - I'm actually kind of surprised at how "cheap" they are.

They clearly copied the design from a Triumph Spitfire.

OTOH, that Plymouth XNR is unreal. Darn it, there's no price listed.

By that time, the 1962 250GT SWB Ferrari's were already tearing up tracks and roadways on both sides of the Atlantic.... And not a Spitfire in sight.....

Details, details. In other news (and keeping with the ripped-off-from-British-designs theme).... That's gotta be LOUD.
